Kennedy is one of the four owners of Renú Hot Yoga. She has over 300 teaching and 400 training hours since becoming certified in December of 2014. She fell in love with the practice of Yoga because of the stillness and healing it brought to her life. She loves teaching Yoga – she loves the reward of seeing her students overcome fear, low self esteem, and discovering themselves on a deeper level. Kennedy teaches all different levels of Vinyasa, Blend, and Hatha.
Teliah is one of the four owners of Renú Hot Yoga. Having her Bachelor's of Science in Health and Wellness, she loves anything having to do with health and taking a holistic approach to life. This journey of Yoga has solidified that it's not just about the physical body but how the mind, emotions, and spiritual aspects connect with the body to create a completely balanced person. Teliah teaches all levels of vinyasa, Hot 26 and Yin on occasion.
Jennifer loves teaching at Renú! She loves the Lord and hopes that His light will shine through her in every class that she teaches. Jen has taught various exercise formats for the last 20 years in the beautiful Yakima Valley. She loves to help people reach their fitness goals and believes very strongly in the key connection between Mind, Body, and Spirit. Jen teaches Heated Vinyasa and Sunrise Vinyasa.
I love this beautiful earth we live on and want to strive to protect it and serve the wonderful souls that live on it. I believe yoga is a wonderful tool to help change the body and mind in a positive and healthful way that can then radiate out beyond the individual and benefit others. It is my goal to use yoga to help people manage stress, as well as bring yoga to people who have a hard time accessing it because of economic barriers. Taylor teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, and Blend.
After 2 knee surgeries, Loegan started practicing Yoga as an alternative to rigorous physical activity and as a way to find inner peace. She feels at home in the hot room, teaching students and helping to connect and change lives. Loegan teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, and Gentle Yoga classes.
Alexis has been teaching yoga since 2010 and began teaching hot yoga in 2012. After suffering a spinal injury in 2007, her yoga journey began when a neurologist recommended yoga for rehabilitation. Alexis loves all things yoga: the gentle strengthening and healing benefits along with the joy and energy she experiences through teaching. “For in Him we live and move and have our being…” Acts 17.28
Bo Wilkinson is a mom of four, a yogi on an amazing journey, with a belief in God that aspires to loving others and accepting herself at every turn, in each moment.Currently Bo teaches yoga and runs Medical Weight Loss Center in Yakima, WA with an approach to healthy living that has proven both inspirational and effective for her clients. Bo has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, is R-YFT certified through YogaFaith, and RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance.
Melina Stasiuk, owner of Yogeek, is a graduate of Pacific Yoga's 200-Hour and 500-Hour Teacher Training Program. Her study of yoga over the past 12 years and working as an aide in physical therapy for the last 4 years has taught her the value of paying attention to form, the importance of functional movement, and the power of making small adjustments. Melina's classes emphasize plain language instruction, alignment-based movement, and relaxation. Yoga is her passion, but she also loves to laugh, and her goal is to make yoga fun and accessible to all levels, especially beginners.
Colleen has been teaching yoga over 4 years, after discovering its trans-formative powers attending college in Missoula. Colleen sees yoga as a moving meditation and strives to help students color outside the lines of their practice by inspiring them to be curious and open. She believes in maintaining a safe, calm environment for her classes, and that this leads to connecting students to their intuition. Off the mat, Colleen practices the yoga of parenting with her greatest teacher of all, 4 year-old Caroline.
As a licensed mental health therapist for 15 years Sarah uses yoga as a resource for clients struggling with crippling anxiety and depressive symptoms to aid in their healing processes. After trying yoga for herself, she realized she needed it as much as, if not more than, those she was trying to help. She was so impacted in her first class that she went four more times that week and hasn’t been able to stop since. Compelled by the transformative mental, physical, and spiritual gifts of the Yoga practice, Sarah became a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Faith. Her joy and passion for helping others become their best selves, on and off the mat, is evident and contagious. For Sarah, the practice of yoga is ‘Prayer and Praise in motion’.
As you may already know, more and more people are discovering the life changing benefits of yoga - making the yoga community grow larger. If you’re serious about beginning or continuing your yoga journey, the key is finding a studio where you feel welcome, loved, and appreciated. Is your studio close to your home? Are you greeted with a smile? Are you continually learning new things from your instructors? We completely understand that finding a studio can be a challenge - that is why at Renú, we strive for making you feel welcome, keeping our space clean, making our classes affordable, offering a variety of classes, and making you feel at home.
Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in and breathe. Avoid eating a heavy meal for two hours before class. If you do become hungry before, eat an apple, or small snack. Be sure to drink plenty of water consistently at least 24 hours before your class, especially if you will be in the heated room. Bring a yoga mat, water, and a towel if you will be in a heated class. We have mats at the studio that you can borrow if it is your first time. After your first time attending Renú, you can rent a mat for $2. We also have mats, mat towels, and water bottles for purchase. Also, please be aware of strong deodorants or perfumes just before practice.
Whether you are attending Renú for your first yoga class or you have been practicing for years, we first want to say thank you! We are so excited to help guide you through your practice and we will work our hardest to make sure you have an incredible experience.
Everyone is on a different path in their journey and every day is different from the one before. When you are selecting your class, the one your friend recommended to you or the class that works best with your schedule might not the best for for you today. If you are not sure what class you should be taking, Hatha is a great class to begin with. If you have any challenges in your body such as past surgeries, pain in lower back, etc... please be sure to let your instructor know. They will be able to assist you and give you great ideas for relieving your area of pain.
The infrared heat panels in the room heat objects (including your body) with a comfortable, therapeutic heat that penetrates the body leading to benefits such as: pain relief, weight loss, improved circulation, lower blood pressure, deep relaxation and toxin release through added sweat.
Please inform the instructor of your medical conditions so we are aware of them. Along with that, please talk with a doctor before coming to a heated class. The heat is wonderful, but depending on your condition, it may not be for you. Your overall health and safety is our number one concern.
